Venue requirements for HWR events

Schedule

Day 1 — WEDNESDAY

17:00 — writing room open, set up for participants to write
19:00 — catering: dinner (perhaps in a separate room)

Day 2 — THURSDAY

catering: tea/coffee/water available in the writing room all day
9:00 — room open
11:30 — catering: lunch
15:30 — afternoon break (catering: snacks according to nutrition ideas below)
17:30 — end.

Day 3 — FRIDAY
9:00 — room open
11:30 —catering: lunch
15:30 — afternoon break (catering: snacks according to nutrition ideas below)
16:30 — end.

Room requirements

1 x table and chair per person — presuming small tables! Needs to be enough space for a laptop and water and books and notes, etc.

Fitting approx 10-15 people.

Room should be quiet and private.

Lots of big windows and natural light preferred, if possible!

Tea, coffee and water available inside the meeting room all day.

Break catering should be served outside of the meeting room.

It’s important to us to have healthy food that will stimulate the mind, rather than send us to an afternoon nap. :)

We’ve worked with a nutritionist to select ingredients to create delicious and nutritious lunches and snacks.

All snack items should be vegan.

Some sample recipes are suggested below.

Ingredients for cognitive enhancement

  • Walnuts

  • Almonds

  • Chia seeds

  • Coconut (oil and shredded)

  • Raspberries and blueberries

  • Avocados

  • Collard Greens

  • Oats

  • Cinnamon

  • Sunflower seeds

  • Pumpkin seeds

Sample recipes

  • smoothies (using berries rather than tropical fruit; no sugar or sweeteners)

  • rocky road (dark chocolate only, no candied fruit or sugar)

  • energy balls

Accommodation

Private or twin rooms, within walking distance of writing room.

For approx 10-15 people.
